ABOUT SUPHENA

A practice shaped by music, care and human connection.

I'm Suphena, a musician and practitioner whose work explores the relationship between voice, emotional experience and human connection.

Through my experience of music-making and working with people in different care and creative settings, I've become increasingly interested in what happens when music becomes more than something we perform. It can become a way to communicate, explore our experiences, express what is difficult to put into words and meet one another with greater understanding.

I founded The Singing Care Collective to bring these interests together through personalised support for artists and meaningful musical experiences for communities. My approach is attentive, collaborative and responsive to the individual, recognising that every person's relationship with their voice and with music is different.

Whether working with a performer navigating the pressures of a creative career or facilitating music with someone who communicates in their own unique way, I begin with curiosity, respect and a belief in the value of being heard.
